Quincy, Ill - The Quincy University men's lacrosse team welcomed No. 20 Rockhurst University to QU Stadium on Tuesday evening (Apr. 6). The Hawks lost the conference showdown 16-4.
The Hawks started the match strong by responding to Rockhurst's first goal with a rocket shot by Jayme Brain that tied the game 1-1. RU scored two more times, but QU kept their engines going when Brain assisted Neal Dardis for the Hawks' second goal of the game to make it 3-2.
Quincy was not able to contain Rockhurst's persistent offensive output as the visitors picked up the pace. RU scored six more goals to end the first half with a 9-2 lead.
Rockhurst remained in the driver seat for the rest of the game as the Hawks were able to score only two more times. Gage Evans scored in the third quarter and Preston Willman was assisted by Jordan Ernst to round out QU's goals. The Hawks fell by a final score of 16-4.
