QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University women's volleyball team was handed their first home loss of the season in straight sets, 25-22, 25-22, 25-13 to the 9th-ranked Missouri-St. Louis Tritons on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 2).
The Hawks entered this afternoon's contest winning five of their previous six matches, and the Tritons rallied off a six-match winning streak. The two teams sat atop the GLVC in offensive kills per set, UMSL with 14.13 kills per set and Quincy averaged 13.85. The respected teams also lead the conference in assists per set with Quincy dishing out 12.85 per set to UMSL's 12.71 assists per set.
This was the second time the two teams faced off this season as UMSL swept QU back on February 6th. The afternoon contest had a similar outcome, as the Hawks dropped straight sets to the Tritons.
Quincy's was led by
Mattie Norris who had 12 kills and 13 digs.
Emily Rehagen contributed nine kills, and
Makayla Knoblauch dished out 24 assists.
The Hawk attack was held to a .138 hitting percentage, as the Tritons attacked at an efficient .283 percentage.
