QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University men's volleyball team matched up against an efficient Ohio State team on Friday evening (Apr. 2). The Hawks dropped straight sets with the Buckeyes in a final score of 25-20, 25-29, 25-18.
The first set had both teams jockeying for the lead, but seven QU service aces was the edge the Buckeyes needed to to pull away with a 25-20 set one victory. Quincy attacked at a .200 clip, but OSU edged them out with a solid .385 hitting percentage.
Following set one, Quincy responded with ten team kills on 24 attempts to mark a .250 hitting percentage. The Buckeyes continued to match the Hawks energy, as they notched 16 kills on 29 attempts to finish with a .448 attacking percentage.
In the final set, Ohio State took a 10-4 lead, and this deficit was far too much to overcome. The Buckeyes lead grew to as many as eight, and the Hawks were held to a match-low .083 attacking percentage. OSU pulled away and completed the sweep with a 25-18 set three victory.
