Liberty, MO - The Quincy University women's soccer team faced William Jewell College at their place on Thursday evening (Apr. 1) and came away with a golden goal victory. The game-winning goal by Lauren Crane was assisted by Riley Hayes to propel the Hawks to victory.

Quincy controlled the flow of the match offensively after outshooting William Jewell sixteen shots to seven in nearly 95 minutes of play. The Cardinals looked to strike first after only 16 seconds from the opening kick off, but were unsuccessful as Olivia Kindt saved an early shot on goal. Quincy sent their first shot attempt at the six-minute mark after Lauren Crane fired a shot to the bottom part of the goal, but was saved by the Cardinal goalie. 

The Hawks remained relentless and shot six more times on goal in the contest. Crane shot three times in the game with one on goal that was saved and then game-winning goal in overtime. Crane broke through with the game winner after an assist from Riley Hayes less than five minutes into the first overtime period. The Hawks secured their fifth victory of the season to move to 5-3-2 on the year.

The Hawks will continue their Kansas City road swing and will face Rockhurst University on Saturday (Apr. 3) at 12:00 PM.
