St. Louis, MO – The Quincy University women's volleyball team faced Maryville University Saturday evening (Mar. 27) to wrap up their two-day road trip. The Hawks beat the Saints in four sets to win the match, 25-12, 25-18, 24-26, 25-21.

In the first set, the Hawks rallied several times to take a significant lead. Quincy went on a seven-point run to make it 10-1. Maryville trailed for the rest of the set as the Hawks continued to stretch their lead to win with a margin of 13 points, 25-12. 

The Flyers took a 2-0 lead at the beginning of the second set, but Quincy responded with three straight points to make it 3-2. Both teams exchanged points for the next 12 serves until the Hawks took back the lead with a kill by Emily Rehagen, 9-8. QU did not give up the lead again and won the second set, 25-18. 

Maryville battled back in the third set taking a quick 5-0 lead. The Hawks trailed the rest of the set and did not overcome the difference despite making it close at the end, 26-24.

The Hawks came roaring back in the fourth set as Quincy took a 5-4 lead and did not look back again. The Hawks remained in control the rest of the way winning the set, 25-21.
