QUINCY, Ill. - After a week since their last game, the QU women's volleyball returned to the court on Saturday (Oct. 30) and faced off with Maryville University in their annual "Pink Out '' game. The Hawks rolled to a straight set sweep behind a .348 team hitting percentage.
Fueling the efficient offensive attack was
Alyssa Grimm,
Emma Wijnbergen, and
Mattison Norris. Grimm hit a gaudy .714 from the middle as she slammed down ten kills on fourteen attempts without committing an error. She also denied four Maryville attacks with two solo blocks.
Outside hitting freshman
Emma Wijnbergen hit a clean .500 after spiking 11 kills on 20 attempts with a single attacking error.
Mattison Norris also secured double-digit kills with ten on the day after she converted on 11 of her 26 attempts for a .385 average.
Emily Rehagen also added 12 kills on a team-high 32 attempts and also led the team in digs with 14.
Once again setting up the Hawk attack was setter
Makayla Knoblauch who sent out 39 assists. Knoblauch snagged a double-double after digging out ten Saint attacks, and she also tallied three service aces.
