Indianapolis, IN.- The Quincy University women's basketball team had three players in double figures in an 82-57 road loss against the Greyhounds of Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon (Jan 30).
Laney Lantz led the way for the up-and-down Hawk offense by scoring 19 points while finishing 8-for-8 at the charity stripe.
Aleksandra Petrovic followed with 14 points on 6-11 shooting from the field and four rebounds.
Marta Rivera shot 75 percent on 6-8 shooting as she scored 12 points and grabbed three rebounds.
The Hawks struggled to get things going offensively in the first half. QU converted on just seven made field goals in the half.
Entering the halftime break, the Greyhounds led 39-18.
In the second half, Quincy showed streaks of offense after making eight-of-sixteen from the field in the third quarter, as they surpassed their field goal total from the first two quarters.
Following a solid third quarter performance, Quincy (41%) shot better from the field than the Greyhounds (35%) in the fourth quarter, but the slow start was too much to overcome.
The late rally was not enough as Quincy fell on the road by a score 82-57.

The Hawks return to action at home on Tuesday (Feb. 2nd) at 5:30 p.m. in a rescheduled game against the Screaming Eagles of Southern Indiana University. USI who came into the week ranked #11 lost on Saturday to Truman State.
