QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's lacrosse team welcomed Lynn University to QU Stadium on Thursday (Mar. 5) afternoon. The Hawks fell behind early and could not recover, as the Fighting Knights won by a final score of 14-0.
How It Happened
1st Half
Lynn was receiving votes in the latest USILA Coaches Poll and they showed why in the first minute of the game. The Fighting Knights found the back of the net 37 seconds into Thursday's contest to go up 1-0.
Sam Huff kept the Lynn attack at bay for the next 14 minutes by making four saves, but his counterpart on the opposite end also kept the Hawks out of the net.
The visiting team tallied another goal with sixteen seconds left in the opening quarter to take a 2-0 lead.
Lynn's offense came alive in the second period as they scored six goals to take a comfortable lead.
QU could not get anything going on offense in final fifteen minutes of the first half. The Hawks two best chances came from
Kyle Srichantra and
Neal Dardis, but neither shot found pay dirt.
Quincy trailed 8-0 heading into the locker room.
2nd Half
The Fighting Knights barrage of goalies' all had an answer for every QU shot in the last two quarters. The Hawks put five shots on goal, but all five were saved.
Lynn added six goals in the second half to win by a final score of 14-0.

The Hawks will start their spring break road trip this Sunday (Mar. 8) by traveling to Romeoville, Illinois to face Felician University at 2 p.m.
