CLINTON, Miss. – Quincy University's baseball team looked to complete a series sweep of the Mississippi College Choctaws on Sunday (Feb. 23), but the Hawks gave up seventeen runs in the series finale.

How It Happened
The Hawks got off to a promising start after scoring four runs in the second inning. Joe Roscetti brought in two runs with a single to right field.

Jacob Kalusniak brought home another run with a RBI single to center which gave QU an early 3-0 lead. Nolan Snyder scored Roscetti from third base after grounding into a double play up the middle. Quincy held a 4-0 lead heading to the bottom of the second.

The Choctaws were able to answer right away in next half of the frame. A two-run home run cut the score to 4-2.

In the third inning, Mississippi College took control. A four-run inning gave the home team a 6-4 lead.

Quincy got a run back in the top of the fourth when Nolan Snyder hit a double to right field which brought in Kalusniak. QU trailed 6-5.

In the bottom of the frame, the Choctaws went back on the attack. Mississippi College hit a three-run homer to go ahead 9-5 and never looked back the rest of the way.

Over the next three innings, Mississippi College poured on eight more runs while the Hawks added just two more runs. Nolan Wosman hit a two-run homer to make it 14-7 in the top of the seventh.
