LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Quincy University men's basketball team traveled to Louisville to take on the Bellarmine Knights on Saturday (Feb. 15) afternoon. The Hawks trailed by fourteen at the half and were never able to get back within single digits, falling 90-66.
How It Happened
1st Half
The Knights opened up an eight-point lead to start Saturday's contest, leading 16-8 seven minutes into the game.
QU answered by putting together a 10-2 run, fueled by eight points from
Viktor Kovacevic, to tie the game at 18-18.
Bellarmine caught fire in the final eight minutes of the half, ending on a 28-12 run.
The Hawks trailed 46-30 heading to the locker room.
2nd Half
The Hawks came out shooting in the second half, cutting the lead to 12 after two threes from
Ryan Briscoe.
Unfortunately, Quincy was not able to get any closer as Bellarmine shot 51.7% from the floor in the second half to keep QU at bay.
Quincy finished shooting 40% from the field, while the Knights shot 52.5% and 87% from the charity stripe.
The Hawks fell by a final score of 90-66.
