Biography
2019-2020 (Junior): Appeared in 28 games and made 16 starts for the Hawks. Shot 46% from the field (89-193) and made 26 shots from beyond the arc on 76 attempts. Made eight three-pointers in the final game of the year versus Maryville and scored 31 points. Averaged 9.1 points per game, which was fourth best on the team. Averaged 4.8 rebounds per game and led the team with 21 blocks. Hit a buzzer-beater against Lewis and made a shot in the final seconds against Drury to seal the victory for QU.
2018-2019 (Borough of Manhattan CC, Sophomore): Started 24 games and averaged 25.4 minutes. Made 103 field goals on 203 attempts for a 51% shooting percentage. Kovacevic went 10-45 from beyond the arc and made 87 free throws on 113 shots for a 77% free throw percentage. Averaged 12.6 points per game while scoring 303 points on the year. Grabbed 8.5 rebounds per game and had a total of 59 assists.
2017-2018 (Borough of Manhattan CC, Freshman): Started a team-high 29 games in the 2017-18 campaign with BMCC. He recorded a career-high in scoring (23 points) in a regular season game against Roxbury. He brought down a career-high 20 rebounds against Dutchess County. Led the Panthers in total rebounds, rebounding average (8.5), blocks (39), and made free-throws (79). He was named a CUNYAC All-Star while averaging 12 points per game.
Background:
Kovacevic is a Belgrade, Serbia native and is a Computer Science major at Quincy University. Kovacevic is the son of Dragan & Nedeljka and has one sibling Mima. Kovacevic is a graduate of Gymnasium Patriarch Pavle, where he ended with a 3.5 GPA, and played basketball for one year.
