Box Score QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University women's tennis team ended its season on a high note with a win over Wartburg College Sunday afternoon (April 14). The Hawks defeated the Knights 6-3.

Singles

In the No.1 spot, Rita Kanaeva took her match to three sets. Kanaeva won the opening set 6-1 before dropping a competitive second set 7-5. Her opponent won the decisive third set 10-6.

Makaela Hampton and Nicole Lao both cruised to 6-1, 6-1 victories. 

Marta Caballero Garcia grinded out a 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) win at No.4 singles.

Anna Konczak went out on top at the No.5 spot. The senior won her final match as a Hawk in comeback fashion. She dropped the first set 6-4 before responding by winning the next two sets 6-2, 11-9. 

Haley Milazzo fell 6-4, 7-5 at No.6 singles.

Doubles

In the No.1 spot, Hampton and Lao defeated their opponents 8-5. Caballero Garcia and Konczak rolled to an 8-2 victory at No.2 doubles.

The pairing of Kanaeva and Milazzo fell 8-3 at the No.3 spot.


The Hawks finished the season with an 8-11 record.
