Box Score ELSAH, Ill. – The Quincy University women's tennis team nearly swept their match with Principia College on Friday evening. The Hawks won the dual match 8-1.
Singles
Five Hawks were victorious in singles action.
Nicole Lao and
Marta Caballero Garcia both swept 6-0, 6-0.
Makaela Hampton and
Anna Konczak won their matches 6-1, 6-0. Junior
Abby Moore also earned a win defeating her opponent 6-0, 6-1.
Doubles
Quincy continued their dominance in doubles action as all three pairings picked up wins. The team of Lao and Hampton won the first doubles match 8-6. Marta Cabellero Garcia and
Anna Konczak picked up a 8-3 win while the tandum of
Abby Moore and
Rita Kanaeva won their match 8-1.
The women's team now have a record of 2-1 this spring, and will join the men's team in a non conference match-up with Saint Louis University tomorrow (Feb. 16).
