QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University women's basketball team returned to Pepsi Arena to face Lindenwood on Tuesday night (Nov. 26). The Hawks dropped the non-conference matchup to the Lions, 71-48.
Alexa Low led the Hawks by dropping in 11 points and grabbing 5 rebounds, while
Aleksandra Petrovic added 10 points.
How It Happened
The Hawks fell behind 5-0 early on in their sixth straight home game of the season. The Lions scored five quick points off a layup and three-pointer in the first 33 seconds.

Ella Gobald answered the visiting team's run with a jumper to cut the lead to 5-2. Lindenwood scored the next four points before Gobald responded once again with a shot from behind the arc.
The Lions ended the opening quarter on a 12-3 run. QU shot just 25% from the field as they trailed 21-8 heading into the second period.
Laney Lantz found a cutting
Jessica Merino to start the second quarter, but Lindenwood did not allow the Hawks to build any momentum as they hit three of their next four shots to extend the lead to seventeen.
The Lions built their lead to 23 points midway through the quarter, but Quincy made a late run.
Dami Adeyinka and
Alexa Low combined for 11 points in the final four minutes of the half to bring the Hawks within fourteen. QU went into the locker room down 39-25.
Lindenwood started the third quarter by regaining a 20-point cushion, but the Hawks answered in a big way.
Jessica Merino came off the bench and
Alexa Low found the sharp-shooting senior for back-to-back threes to give Quincy a much-needed spark.Â
The Hawks held the Lions scoreless for over four minutes of play andÂ
Aleksandra Petrovic nailed a jumper with 2:48 remaining in the third quarter to cut the Lindenwood lead to twelve. The visiting team ended the Hawks run with a jumper in the paint to take a 53-39 lead into the fourth quarter.
Petrovic and Low made back-to-back buckets to start the final period, pulling within 10 points with nine minutes remaining. That is as close as the Hawks would get, however, as the Lions outscored QU 18-5 to end the game.
The first-year GLVCÂ team defeated Quincy 71-48.
