QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's volleyball team dropped a conference matchup the Lewis University Flyers Thursday (Apr. 5). The Flyers defeated the Hawks 25-13, 25-17, 25-9.
Play by Play:
The Hawks scored the first three points of the match before a 6-0 run by the Flyers gave Lewis control in the opening set. The Hawks cut the lead to 11-8 but were unable to trim the score any further in the first set. Lewis scored 14 of the final 19 points in the opening set.
QU and Lewis were tied at 7-7 in the early portion of the second set. A 7-2 Flyers run gave Lewis a 14-9 advantage. This was enough cushion for the Flyers to hold on for a 25-17 second set win.
Lewis opened the third set on a 15-5 run en route to a 25-9 third set win to defeat the Hawks in three sets.
