QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's volleyball team fell to Lindenwood University Tuesday night (Mar. 6) 3-1 in a MIVA conference matchup. The Lions defeated the Hawks 25-15, 25-22, 21-25, 25-12.
Lindenwood set the tone from the opening set. The Lions also took advantage of seven Hawks attack errors in set one. The Lions held a 7-3 lead over the Hawks in the early portion of the first set.
The Hawks fought back to cut the Lions lead to 14-12. The Lions regained control and took the opening set 25-15.
Lindenwood was extremely efficient in the second set, hitting .379 and tallied 13 kills. The Hawks committed eight attack errors in the second set.
The Hawks led 17-15 late in the second set before a 4-0 run by the Lions gave Lindenwood a 19-17 lead. The Hawks and Lions traded points before the Lions took the set 25-22.
QU forced a fourth set with a 25-21 win in set number three. The Hawks tallied 15 kills and hit .344 in the set win.
The Lions grabbed control in the fourth set and never relinquished their lead, defeating the Hawks 25-12.
Anthony Winter led the Hawks with 11 kills.
The Hawks fall to 9-12 and 0-8 in MIVA play.
QU travels Graceland University Saturday (Mar. 10) for its next matchup.
