QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's volleyball team fell to IPFW Friday (Mar. 30) 3-0. The Hawks fell to the Mastodons 25-23, 25-19, 25-20.
Play by Play:
The Hawks grabbed a 10-7 lead in the first set before a 3-0 run by Fort Wayne tied the set at 10-10. The teams continued the back and forth scoring until the score sat tied at 23-23. The Mastodons took the final two points of the first set to take the opening set. 25-19.
The second set saw the Mastodons take a 12-6 lead over the Hawks. QU took five of the next six points to cut the Fort Wayne lead to 13-11. The Mastodons were able to maintain this lead and took the second set 25-19.
The Hawks were determined to send the match to a fourth set and were tied with the Mastodons at 13-13. A 5-0 run by Fort Wayne gave the Mastodons an 18-13 lead. QU was able to trim the lead to 23-19 but Fort Wayne held on for a 25-20 set win.
The Hawks committed 21 attack errors in the loss to the Mastodons.
