QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's volleyball team dropped a home matchup to Ohio State University Friday night (Mar. 23). The Hawks lost in straight sets, 25-16, 25-9, 25-23.
Play by Play:
The Hawks and the Buckeyes sat tied at 5-5 in the first set. The Buckeyes took seven of the next nine points to grab a 12-7 lead. The Hawks brought the lead to four at 19-15. Ohio State finished the set on a 6-1 run to win the opening set 25-16.
The second set saw Ohio State begin the set on a 10-0 run. Ohio State continued to hold the advantage in the second set and defeated the Hawks 25-9 in the second set.
After trailing 9-4 in the third set, QU battled back to tie the set at 13-13. QU and Ohio State traded points until the score read 20-20. Facing match point at 24-21, the Hawks scored the next two points to cut the lead to 24-23. Ohio State took the next point to win the set 25-23 and take the match.
