Box Score QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's tennis team completed its opening weekend against the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles Sunday morning (Feb. 4). The Hawks fell to the Screaming Eagles 8-1.
The Hawks lone win came from Collin Adams who won his match 6-2, 6-2 in No. 4 singles.
Danyil Vayser fell to Alexander Lawrenz 6-1,6-1 in No. 1 singles.
Michael Lesko fell to Samuel Kiladejo 6-2,6-2 in No. 2 singles.
In No. 3 singles Erik Weiler fell to Ilia Karelin 6-0, 6-2.
In No. 5 singles Dane Mechali fell to Martim Cafe 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (7-0), 10-8. Mechali split both sets, winning the second before falling 10-8 in the tiebreak set.
In No. 6 singles Wyatt Pauley fell to Kooper Falkenstein 6-2, 6-3.
In No. 1 doubles Vayser and Weiler (QU) fell to Kiladejo and Dones 9-7.
Adams and Ryan McMillan (QU) fell to Lawrenz and Karelin 8-2 in No. 2 doubles.
In No. 3 doubles Mechali and Pauley (QU) lost to Cafe and Blandford 8-2.
Both women's and men's teams are on the road next weekend at the St. Clair Tennis Club in O'Fallon, Illinois.
The Hawks will be competing in a quadrangular against McKendree, Saint Louis University, and the University of Indiana Southeast.
