SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Quincy University women's volleyball team lost 19-25, 19-25, and 11-25 to Drury on Friday night.
Play by Play
Set 1
The Panthers took it to the Hawks from the start. Drury quickly built a 5-1 lead to start the game.
Quincy was able to get within three after four straight points to bring the score to 14-11. The Hawks were able to keep it within two after back-to-back attack errors on Drury made it a 19-17 score favoring DU.
Drury capped off the first set by scoring the last six of eight points to secure the 25-19 set win.
Set 2
The Hawks avoided getting behind early in the second set. Both teams were tied 3-3 after a service ace by
Sara Rathbun.
Stephanie Mizeur recorded a kill later in the set to get QU within three points at 10-7.
The Panthers made a three-point run to pull ahead 13-7. Drury would remain in the driver's seat.
Quincy was unable to get within five points the rest of the set as DU took a 2-0 lead with a 25-19 set two win.
Set 3
The Hawks kept pace early after a kill by Mizeur and an attack error on Drury made the score 4-3.
With the score later at 14-8, the Panthers pulled away by scoring six in a row to expand the lead to 12.
QU eventually fell 25-11 as Drury got the 3-0 victory.
