ROLLA, Mo. – The Quincy University women's volleyball team dropped another conference match-up in straight sets on Saturday. The Hawks fell to Missouri S&T 14-25, 21-25, 6-25.
Play by play
Set 1
The Miners scored the first five points in the first set to jump ahead. S&T extended their lead to 8-1 forcing the Hawks to play come back.
QU was able to bring the score to 16-10, but were unable to mount a full come back. The Hawks dropped set one 25-14.
Set 2
The Hawks played S&T close to start the second set. The score was tied 4-4 after an attack error by the Miners.
Quincy took a 9-6 lead on a four-point run. The scoring run included kills by freshman Sara Brown and senior
Lauren Nadler.
The Miners tied the game back up 9-9 with three points to answer QU's run.
Missouri S&T pulled away after an 11-11 tie. The Miners tallied five straight points to make the score 16-11.
QU could not overcome the defecit and dropped set two 25-21.
Set 3
The third set was all Miners. Quincy only managed six points as they fell in straight sets 25-6.
