Crane Scores Twice as Hawks Win 5-2 Over Maryville

QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University women's soccer team collected its 9th win of the season with a 5-2 win over the Maryville Saints Friday night (Oct. 19).  

Play by Play

The Hawks got on the board early in the GLVC matchup.  Mary Maloney scored her first goal of the season in the 19th minute of play.  Lauren Crane sent the ball into the box and Maloney tapped the ball past the keeper to put the Hawks up 1-0.  

Maryville responded with a goal of their own just nine minutes later.  Amanda Kaltwasser scored the equalizer in the 28th minute of play.  

Kaltwasser gave the Saints the lead in the 35th minute with her second goal of the game.  Kaltwasser headed the ball over Emilee Autry on an assist by Kaley Ruff.  

The offensive output continued in the 40th minute of the first half.  Riley Hayes scored her first goal of the season to tie the game at 2-2.  Hayes scored on a rebound after a Hawks corner kick.  

Quincy nearly took the lead right before the half as Alex Severino drove a shot on goal.  Alison Riddle made the save and QU and Maryville went into the half tied 2-2. 

Lauren Crane gave the Hawks the lead in the 49th minute of action.  Abby Pulliam assisted on the goal as Crane scored from five yards out.  

Pulliam gave the Hawks a two-goal cushion just six minutes later.  Pulliam blasted a shot from 10 yards away to give the Hawks a 4-2 lead over Maryville.  

Emilee Autry made four saves in the second half to keep the Maryville offense in check.  

Just before the end of the game, Lauren Crane scored her second goal to give the Hawks a 5-2 win.
