SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - A season-high six goals by the Quincy University women's soccer team led to a 6-0 win over the Drury Panthers on Sunday (Oct. 14).
Lauren Crane and
Maddie Bauer each scored a pair of goals in the Hawks eighth win of the season.

QU's offense was running on all cylinders from the opening kick.
Lauren Crane nearly gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead in just the first minute of action. Crane drove a shot toward the goal and drilled the crossbar. The ball was cleared away before the Hawks had another opportunity to score.
Crane was far from done with her offensive output. Crane had four shots in the first 12 minutes of play but none were successful in finding the back of the net.
The Hawks tenacity paid off in the 22nd minute of play. Crane played a ball to
Maddie Bauer and Bauer's header beat the Panthers goalie to put the Hawks up 1-0.
Just one minute later,
Lauren Crane's resiliency paid off. Crane put the Hawks up 2-0 with a goal from eight yards out.
Quincy added to its lead in the 39th minute.
Grace Hilbing scored her first goal of the season on an assist by
Josie Eriksen. Hilbing scored on a shot right in front of the goal to put the Hawks up 3-0.
After the half,
Lauren Crane scored just 21 seconds into the second half to put the Hawks up 4-0. Crane scored on an assist from
Maddie Bauer on a shot from eight yards out.
Just as impressive was the Hawks defense. QU limited Drury to just four shots on the day. None of these shots ended up on goal.
In the 55th minute,
Maddie Bauer scored her second goal of the game off a corner kick by
Abby Pulliam. Bauer redirected the corner into the left corner of the goal to put the Hawks up 5-0.
The Hawks added the final goal of the game on a give and go from
Maddie Bauer to
Abby Pulliam in the 83rd minute. Pulliam scored her fourth goal of the season and gave the Hawks a 6-0 lead.
Quincy comfortably held on for the 6-0 win.
