QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University tennis teams hosted the QU Invitational Friday and Saturday this past weekend (Sept. 15-16).  The men's team hosted Westminster College, Truman State, and Lindenwood University-Belleville.  

Daniel Vayser (Round Lake, IL / Gymnasium "Konsul" #86) won two out of his three matches on the weekend, including a three set victory over Griffin Turnage of Truman State.  Vayser came back after losing the first set 6-2. He won the second set 6-4 and the tiebreaker 19-17.  

Michael Lesko (Columbia, IL / Gibault Catholic) won all three of his matches, defeating each competitor from Westminster, Lindenwood Belleville, and Truman State.  

Collin Adams (Quincy, IL / Quincy) went 2-1 after returning to the singles line up.  

The Hawks doubles teams of Weiler/Vayser, Adams/McMillan, and Lesko/Anderson each went 2-1.  Weiler and Vayser moved up to #1 Doubles and made an immediate impact with their 2-1 weekend. 

The women's team hosted Westminster, Truman State, Lindenwood Belleville, University of St. Francis, and Western Illinois.

Due to an injury each member of the women's team moved up one position.

Rebecca McIsaac (Fairview Heights, IL / Belleville East) went 2-1 after moving up to #1 singles.  

Maria Peterson rebounded after losing her first match.  She defeated Laurel Royer of Westminster 6-4,6-1.  She defeated Samantha Trolio of Lindenwood Belleville to go 2-1 on the weekend.  

The QU doubles teams combined to win five of the seven matches in the doubles flight.  McIsaac and Kaneava spent this weekend as first time dobules partners and went 2-1, falling only to Truman State's #1 Doubles team.
