QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's tennis team competed in their second tournament of the season at the University of Illinois Springfield this weekend (Sept. 8-9).
Friday saw
Erik Weiler (Edwardsville, IL / Edwardsville) and
Patrick Anderson (Racine, WI / St. Catherine's) both win matches in singles competition. Â Weilier defeated Griffen Turnage of Truman State 6-0, 6-1 in number one singles. Â
Anderson won 6-2, 6-4 over Brian Lavalle of Truman in number five singles. Â
The Hawks lost both doubles matches against UMSL and UIS Friday. Â
On Saturday,
Michael Lesko (Columbia, IL / Gibault Catholic) won his first match of the day against Alex Jarvis of Truman State.  He won 6-1, 7-6 (10-4).
Wyatt Pauley (St. Cloud, MN / St. Cloud Tech) beat Jack Miller of Truman State 6-1, 6-3 in the Hawks final match of the day.
The Hawks are back in action hosting the QU Invitational starting Friday (Sept. 15) .
