Quincy Falls In Road Match at Culver-Stockton

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University men's volleyball team dropped a straight-set match to host Culver-Stockton, 25-16, 25-16, 25-22, on Thursday (March 23) night at Charles Field House in Canton, Mo.
 
The Hawks (5-16) were not able to consistently stop the Wildcats' (10-16) attack, which finished with a .364 hitting percentage. Quincy hit .155 for the match.
 
Senior Jarrod Kelso (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Darby) led the Hawks with 10 kills (.412) and a team-high three blocks. Freshman Omari Wheeler (North Las Vegas, Nev./Legacy) added five kills (.133) while sophomore David Siebum (St. Louis, Mo./Vianney) chipped in with four kills (.200).
 
Sophomore Adam Rogan (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North) dished out 21 assists with junior Collin Merk (Chicago, Ill./Loyola Academy) leading the back row with seven digs.
 
Grant Thompson was the top offensive threat for Culver-Stockton, contributing 11 kills and three aces. CSC held a 5-1 edge in aces and an 8-6 lead in blocks.
 
The Hawks continue their six-match swing away from Pepsi Arena on Friday (March 24) when they travel to Missouri Baptist for a 7 p.m. nonconference match.
