What Went Down
--- The Lady Hawks and Screaming Eagles played a tight game through the first 10 minutes before a one hour, nine-minute lightning delay stopped proceedings.

--- Quincy dominated play after the delay, scoring just five minutes later, in the 16th minute, as sophomore forward Abby Pulliam (St. Louis, Mo./Eureka) had her shot saved, but senior forward Gabby Herrick (St. Louis, Mo./Eureka) pounced on the rebound and drove it into the back of the net. It was Herrick's first goal of the season while Pulliam was credited with her first assist.

--- The Lady Hawks continued to threaten in the remainder of the first half and outshot the Screaming Eagles, 6-3, before halftime.

--- After the break, USI applied more pressure, testing junior goalkeeper Megan Swanson (St. Charles, Mo./St. Dominic) four times in the second half.

--- The Lady Hawks bagged an insurance goal in the 62nd minute on a nice goal by sophomore midfielder Allison Diekmann (Imperial, Mo./Seckman). She ran onto a low cross sent from the end line by junior forward Mackenzie Rief (Wentzville, Mo./St. Dominic). It was Diekmann's first career goal and Rief's second assist of the season.

--- Southern Indiana outshot Quincy, 9-5, in the second half, but the Swanson and the Lady Hawks maintained the clean sheet – their first of the season.
