Saints Top Hawks 8-1 in GLVC Match

QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University women's tennis team fell to Maryville University in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match on Saturday in Quincy, Ill. 8-1. Amy Kuhle earned a singles win for QU.

MU (6-7, 2-1 GLVC) swept doubles with scores of 8-5, 8-6, and 8-3.

Amy Kuhle gave the Hawks (10-7, 1-3 GLVC) a win in number one singles. Kuhle battled for a tough 7-6 (7-5) first set tiebreaker win over Sarah Etter. Kuhle followed with a 6-4 second set win.

The Saints claimed the next five singles matches to win 8-1.

Elizabeth Kuenzi sent the number two singles match to a third set with a 6-3 win in set two. Kuenzi fell 12-10 in a tight third set.

Next, the Hawks travel to Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo. on Apr. 15th to play a GLVC match.
