Hawks Top Bulldogs in GLVC Matches

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The Quincy men's and women's tennis teams both earned their first wins in the Great Lakes Valley Conference season at Truman State University. The QU women finished TSU 8-1. The QU men topped the Bulldogs 6-3.

The Lady Hawks (10-5, 1-1 GLVC) swept singles play over the Bulldogs (1-6, 0-2 GLVC). Amy Kuhle won the number one singles match in dominating fashion, 6-0, 6-1. Sydney Lynch won her first singles match back from injury with a 6-2, 6-4 win in the sixth slot.

The duo of Rebecca McIsaac and Elizabeth Kuenzi both earned personal sweeps on the day with wins in singles play and an 8-6 win in number one doubles play. Anna Morrissey and Morgan McGinnis also locked up both of their singles matches and secured an 8-4 win in number three doubles.

The Bulldogs took number two doubles 8-4 against Lynch and Kuhle for the lone TSU point.

The QU men (5-8, 1-1 GLVC) took two of three doubles points starting with Patrick Kuhle and Ryan McMillan earning an 8-1 win at number one doubles. Michael Lesko and Wyatt Pauley combined for an 8-6 win at second doubles.

Kuhle led off the Hawks with a 6-0, 6-1 win in number one singles.

Paul Province and Gavin Hatter took number two and three singles for the Bulldogs (1-8, 0-2 GLVC).

Wyatt Pauley claimed the fourth point for QU with a 6-1, 6-3 win at number four doubles. Ryan McMillan and Chris Bueler secured the win for the Hawks with wins at the number five and number six singles respectively.

The men's and women's tennis teams play host to Lewis & Clark Community College on Wednesday, April 6th in Quincy, Ill.
