ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Quincy University men's basketball team closes its season-long four-game road trip this week with a trek to Indianapolis and Saint Joseph's. Last season, the Hawks fell to the Greyhounds, 95-76, at Pepsi Arena and defeated the Pumas, 86-73. Quincy is coming off a split weekend at Drury and Missouri S&T. The Hawks fell to the Panthers, 79-76, in the final minutes last Thursday before outscoring the Miners, 109-96, on Saturday.

TRIPLE-DIGIT MADNESS: The Hawks eclipsed the century mark for the third time this season in their win over S&T. They scored a season-high 115 points against RMU-Springfield in November. QU has surpassed the 90-point mark on nine occasions this season, including in each of its last seven victories.

HISTORY BOOKS: The last time a QU team scored that many points against a GLVC opponent came against Southern Indiana on March 7, 1997 in a 125-118 triple-overtime NCAA Tournament win. The last time the Hawks scored at least 109 in a regulation, regular season GLVC game was March 2, 1996 in a 116-93 against Saint Joseph's.

UP NEXT: The Hawks finally return to Pepsi Arena next Thursday to start a quick two-game home weekend against GLVC East teams Lewis and UW-Parkside. The Rangers are currently ranked No. 23 in the NABC Coaches Poll.

BALANCED EFFORTS: Last week, the Hawks had all five starters average at least 14 points per game, led by senior wing Godson Eneogwe (Chicago, Ill./Maine West/Illinois Central), who averaged 20 points. He scored a career-high 32 points against Missouri S&T, going 12-for-16 from the field, including 6-for-8 from 3-point range. Junior guard Herm Senor II (Springfield, Ill./Southeast) joined Eneogwe by reaching career high status with 29 points to go along with eight assists. He was 8-for-10 from the field and 4-for-6 from long range. Senor was also 9-for-12 from the line.

3-POINT SHOOTING: The Hawks have relied heavily on the 3-point shot this season and it has rarely let them down. The Hawks sank 12 3-pointers against the Miners and lead the Great Lakes Valley Conference in 3-pointers made per game (9.65). They also connect at the fourth-best rate (38.1 percent) in the league. The Hawks have no players ranked in the top 15 in the GLVC in 3-pointers made, despite leading the circuit in that category as a team. QU has nine games with at least 10 threes made. QU has already attempted more 3-pointers this season than in all of 2014-15.

STAY HOT: Since the start of December, the Hawks are shooting 40.2 percent (163-for-405) from 3-point distance. Six players are shooting at least 36 percent from beyond the arc this season, led by senior guard Jordan Wilson (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central) at 46.5 percent (20-for-43). Senior guard Nate Des Jardins (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) leads the Hawks with 37 threes on the year. He is shooting 43 percent.

INSIDE-OUT: A crucial part of that 3-point game plan has been the Hawks' ability to work the ball in the post. The Hawks, who are tied for the GLVC lead in assists per game (17.8), have shown terrific ball movement. Junior forwards Joseph Tagarelli (Bayside, Wis./Waunakee/Kirkwood CC) and Evan McGaughey (Carthage, Ill./Illini West) have proven to be potent as both scorers and passers. The duo combines to average 30.5 points, 13.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game, while shooting 56.4 percent from the field.
