UMSL Tops Quincy in Men's and Women's Tennis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Quincy University men's and women's tennis team fell to the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday (Mar. 28).  The QU men fell 8-1 and the women lost 7-2.  The Hawks lost their first Great Lakes Valley Conference matches of the season.

The UMSL (7-5, 2-0 GLVC) men swept the singles matches to earn six points.

Ian Hinkamper and Ethan Arns won the first doubles match 8-4 over UMSL to earn the Hawks' (5-7, 1-1 GLVC) lone point in the match.  Hinkamper and Arns improved to 13-4 this season in doubles.

The UMSL women (7-4, 3-0 GLVC) won five of six singles matches to clinch a win.

Amy Kuhle earned a 6-4, 6-0 win in singles to improve to 12-6 in singles play this season.

Kuhle teamed up with Sydney Lynch for an 8-4 win over UMSL in the first doubles match.  Kuhle and Lynch improved to 17-1 this season in doubles play.

The Hawks and Lady Hawks travel to Marshall, Mo. to face Missouri Valley College at 1 p.m. tomorrow in a dual match.
