Tim Schachtner begins his first year as Quincy University's Head Strength and Conditioning Coach during the 2026-27 academic year, bringing nearly a decade of experience in collegiate athletic performance and student-athlete development.
Schachtner arrives at Quincy after serving as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Point Park University from August 2025 through June 2026. Prior to his time at Point Park, he spent two years at Limestone University, first as assistant strength and conditioning coach before being promoted to head strength and conditioning coach for the 2024-25 academic year.
Before Limestone, Schachtner worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Frostburg State University from 2019-23. He also gained experience as a strength and conditioning intern at Iowa State University in 2019 and at Buena Vista University in 2016.
Throughout his collegiate coaching career, Schachtner has helped develop numerous high-performing student-athletes, including mentoring 20 recipients of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year Award.
A native of Guthrie Center, Iowa, Schachtner earned his Bachelor of Arts in kinesiology and exercise science from Buena Vista University in 2016 before completing a Master of Science in kinesiology from University of Central Missouri in 2019.
Schachtner holds several nationally recognized certifications, including the National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC), and Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS) credentials. He is also a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Weightlifting Coach (USAW-1).
