Jason Killday

Jason Killday enters his third season as head football coach at Quincy University in 2026. In his second season at the helm, Killday guided the Hawks to a 6–5 overall record and a 4–4 mark in GLVC play.

Killday returned to Quincy after spending eight seasons at Truman State University, where he served as offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach, and recruiting coordinator. Prior to his time in Kirksville, Killday spent six seasons with the Hawks as assistant head coach, quarterbacks coach, and recruiting coordinator.

While at Truman State, Killday oversaw all aspects of the Bulldogs’ offense, including game planning, practice organization, and play calling. Under his leadership, the program averaged 29.8 points and 356.5 yards per game across eight seasons. He played a key role in the Bulldogs’ success, helping lead the program to a GLVC Championship in 2016 and victories in the America’s Crossroads Bowl in 2019, 2021, and 2022. During that stretch, Truman State also recorded four consecutive nine-win seasons for the first time in program history.

Killday was instrumental in implementing a high-powered offensive system that significantly elevated production, increasing scoring from 17.5 points per game in 2015 to 27.6 in 2016. Under his direction, the Bulldogs averaged more than 30 points per game for four straight seasons, another program first.

In his first two seasons leading the Hawks, Killday has established one of the most disciplined programs in NCAA Division II. During the 2024 season, Quincy led the nation in fewest penalties and fewest penalty yards, while also ranking second in penalties per game and fifth in penalty yards per game. The trend continued in 2025, as the Hawks led the GLVC in fewest penalty yards per game and total penalty yards, while ranking second in the conference in both penalties and penalties per game, with all four categories ranking among the top 25 nationally.

Killday’s impact has also been reflected in individual success, as he has coached 22 All-Conference selections, one All-American, and two GLVC major award winners. In 2025, the Hawks produced both the GLVC Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, marking just the second time in program history that Quincy has earned each of those honors.

Before his initial stint at Quincy, Killday coached at three Illinois high schools. He was part of two undefeated seasons and two IHSA Class 5A State Championships at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield, Illinois.

As a player, Killday was a two-year starting quarterback at Illinois College. He earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Illinois College and later completed his K–12 physical education teaching certification at MacMurray College.
