James Smith enters his first season as a volunteer assistant with the Quincy University men's wrestling program in 2026-27.
Smith joins the Hawks' coaching staff immediately following the conclusion of his collegiate wrestling career. He spent one season competing at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire before wrestling his final two seasons at Quincy University.
A native of Osceola, Indiana, Smith was also a state qualifier during his high school career in 2021. Smith graduated from Quincy University in 2026 with a degree in marketing. Outside of wrestling, Smith enjoys collecting sports cards and is a fan of the Chicago White Sox.
