Quincy University Hawks

2022-23 (Junior): Sims made an immediate impact in his first season with the Hawks after transferring from Triton College, finishing with a 13-9 overall record and a .591 win percentage. He went 5-3 in dual action, including a 2-1 mark in conference duals, while scoring 23 dual points for Quincy. Sims recorded four falls, three major decisions, five decision victories, and two ranked wins, which tied for the team lead.

Sims made his debut in a Hawk uniform at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open (11/4/22) before picking up his first victory at Quincy with a fall at the Grand View Open (11/12/22). He went on to make program history at the NCAA Division II Region IV Tournament (2/26/23), winning four straight matches to capture the 149-pound title and become the first Hawk to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championship.

On the national stage, Sims picked up two wins and came just short of All-American status. He also became the first Quincy wrestler to appear in the national individual rankings, climbing to No. 9 at 149 pounds.
