Biography
Personal: Laiken Vorthmann hails from De Soto, Kansas, and is a proud graduate of De Soto High School, where she competed for the Wildcats. She is the daughter of Abby Vorthmann and Tony Bevis and has one sibling, Benjamin Vorthmann. Her mother, Abby, played collegiate soccer at Concordia University from 1999 to 2003.
An accomplished student and athlete, Laiken was a member of the National Art Honor Society and made a significant impact on the De Soto swim team. She contributed to her team's success at the Class 5-1A Kansas State Championships in both 2024 and 2025. Laiken holds multiple school swim records, including in the 200 Freestyle, 200 Individual Medley, 100 Butterfly, 500 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, as well as the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays.
