Quincy University Hawks

2024 (Sophomore): As a sophomore, Mulherin appeared in three games and recorded eight tackles, with seven of those tackles coming in one game against Calumet College (9/28/24).

2023 (Freshman): In his first season with the Hawks, Sawyer appeared in all eight games and was third on the team with 43 total tackles. He also had 6.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and two pass breakups. He made his collegiate debut against Fontbonne (9/14/23), where he recorded his first career tackle. His season-high in tackles came in the final game of the season against St. Mary-of-the-Woods (11/11/23), where he recorded 11 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss and his first career sack.

Personal: Sawyer Mulherin is from Quincy, Illinois, and attended Quincy Senior High School, where he was a proud member of the Blue Devils. The son of Matthew and Bridgette Mulherin, Sawyer has three siblings: Sammy, Schay, and Sydnee. Academically, he earned Honor Roll status all four years and graduated with a 4.3 GPA. On the football field, he served as a 2023 season captain and was honored with the prestigious Golden Helmet Award at QHS. A standout on defense, he recorded 109 tackles his senior year and totaled 170 career varsity tackles. Outside of football, Sawyer enjoys playing chess. His favorite athlete is Livvy Dunne, and he is a fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
