Biography
2024 (Sophomore): As a sophomore, Jensen was the primary kicker and punter for the Hawks. In the kicking department, he kicked off 26 times for 1300 yards, good for an average of 50 yards per kickoff, which included three touchbacks. He was 0-2 on field goal attempts and 12-15 on PATs. Laughlin punted 25 times for 899 yards, which was an average of 35.96 yards per punt. He put seven punts inside the 20 and had a season-long 63-yard punt against Bellarmine.
2023 (Freshman): In his first season with the Hawks, Laughlin served as the primary punter, where he punted 19 times for a total of 649 yards, good for an average of 34.16 yards per punt. He put four punts inside the 20-yard line and had a season-long 51-yard punt that came against Calumet College (9/30/23).
Personal: Jensen Laughlin hails from Good Hope, Illinois, and attended West Prairie High School, where he played for the Cyclones. He is the son of Craig Laughlin and Joni Bucher, with a sibling named Trent Laughlin. A standout on and off the field, Jensen was named to the All-Academic Team and earned All-State honors as both a punter and kicker. He also served as team captain for two years. His senior year was particularly impressive: he rushed for 916 yards, added 300 receiving yards, recorded a 72-yard kickoff, a 59-yard field goal, and a 61-yard punt. Outside of football, Jensen builds and sells computers and competes on a gaming team. His favorite athletes include Gareth Bale, Marshall Faulk, Peyton Manning, and Tracy McGrady, and he supports the St. Louis Rams, Real Madrid, and the San Antonio Spurs.
