Coach McLaughlin is entering his third season at the helm of the QU Sprint Football program. After leading the Hawks to a 4-3 record in their inaugural season in 2022, McLaughlin did one better the following season in 2023, upping the win total to five compared to just three losses along with another trip to the MSFL Playoffs.Â
Over his two seasons, Quincy has outscored its opponents by over 40 points in total while holding opposing offensives to under 20 points in 10 of 15 contests (five times each season) including allowing two scores or less in nine of 15 games.Â
Prior to his time at Quincy, McLaughlin was Head Coach of the Unity-Payson High School football team, located just north of Quincy in Mendon, IL. In addition, McLaughlin served as the girls track Coach and teacher of contemporary history and government while leading the Mustangs on the gridiron for four seasons.
