Biography
2024 (Graduate): In his final season, Newton rushed 35 times for 161 yards and two scores and also served as a primary kick returner, returning nine kickoffs for 266 yards (29.56 yards per return), including an 82-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Chance had a season-high 51 yards on nine attempts against Bellarmine (9/14/24), which also included a 24-yard score.Â
2023 (Senior): Chance rushed 41 times for 234 yards and two touchdowns across six games. He also had two receptions for 15 yards and returned three kickoffs for 50 yards (16.67 yards per return). He scored his first touchdown with the Hawks with a two-yard rush in a win over Walsh (9/22/23) and had a season-high 54 yards on nine rushing attempts against Calumet College (9/30/23).
2022 (Junior): In his first season with the Hawks, Newton appeared in one game, making his debut in a QU uniform against Fontbonne (9/17/22).
2021 (Sophomore at Coe): Newton appeared in seven games for the Kohawks football squad, rushing 55 times for 295 yards and six touchdowns. He made his collegiate debut against Cornell College (9/4/21), where he rushed nine times for 16 yards. He scored his first career touchdown against Simpson (9/18/21) and had a season-high 69 rushing yards against Luther (10/23/21).
2020 (Freshman at Coe): Did not see action.
Personal:Â Hailing from Ewing, Missouri, Chance is a graduate of Highland High School, where he competed as a Cougar. He is the son of Shane and Dawn Newton. Chance went on to play two years of football at Coe College before transferring to QU. Off the field, Chance enjoys fishing and football and looks up to Alvin Kamara. His favorite team is the New Orleans Saints.Â
