Personal: Jared Garcia is from Mokena, Illinois, and is a graduate of Lincoln-Way Central High School, where he was a proud member of the Knights. He is the son of James and Tiffinee Garcia and has two siblings, Torree and Tessa Garcia.
Jared was highly involved in both academics and extracurriculars—as he was a member of the Honor Roll, Yearbook, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and the Mathematics Honor Society. Athletically, he was a standout on the Men’s Volleyball team and was named 2021 Athlete of the Year. During the 2020–21 season, he posted 135 assists, 35 digs, nine blocks, and six kills, with a match-best of 16 assists, four digs, two kills, and one block.
On the club side, Jared won two national qualifiers during the 2019–2020 season, and at Quincy University, he earned the Presidential Scholarship.
Outside the court, Jared enjoys art, playing guitar, graphic design, and listening to music. His favorite athlete is Micah Ma’a, and he supports the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. On campus, he is actively involved as a Resident Advisor, Orientation Leader, Student Ambassador, and SAAC member.
