Quincy University Hawks

2026 (Junior): Broughton started all 48 games at third base for the Hawks during his junior season. He hit .260 with a .372 on-base percentage, .468 slugging percentage, and .840 OPS, recording 12 doubles, eight home runs, 38 RBIs, and 47 runs scored. He also drew 21 walks, was hit by 11 pitches, and went 7-for-9 in stolen base attempts.

Broughton finished the season with 13 multi-hit games and four three-hit performances. His top offensive game came in a win over Truman State (3/8/26), where he went 3-for-3 with a career-high six RBIs.

2025 (Sophomore): Broughton built on his Freshman of the Year campaign with another strong season for the Hawks. He hit .297 with a .384 on-base percentage and a .490 slugging percentage while leading the team in doubles (12), RBIs (59), walks (23), and sacrifice flies (7). His 59 RBIs ranked third in the GLVC.

Broughton also added nine home runs and ranked second on the team with 18 stolen bases on 20 attempts. His biggest swing of the season came against Colorado School of Mines (3/1/25), when he launched a walk-off home run in the 12th inning.

2024 (Freshman): Broughton put together an impressive freshman season for the Hawks, ranking second on the team with a .367 batting average and .480 on-base percentage while finishing fourth with a .533 slugging percentage. He tied for second on the team with 15 doubles, added six home runs, drove in 26 runs, and led Quincy with 64 runs scored.

Broughton hit the first home run of his collegiate career in just his second career game against North Georgia (2/17/24). He finished the season with 22 multi-hit games, including seven three-hit performances, and put together two hitting streaks of at least nine games.

Personal: David Broughton is a native of Fenton, Missouri, and a graduate of St. John Vianney High School. He is the son of Mark and Deanna Broughton and has three siblings: Patrick, Adam, and Emily.

Broughton excelled both academically and athletically during his high school career, earning Honor Roll recognition while being named First Team All-Conference in each of his final three seasons. He helped lead St. John Vianney to an MCC Championship and twice broke the school record for most home runs in a single season.

Outside of baseball, Broughton's favorite athlete is Nolan Arenado, and he is a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
