Hadley Foster

Hadley Foster is in his eighth season as the head coach of the Quincy University men's volleyball team and ranks as the program's all-time leader in wins (104 entering the 2014 season).

In 2013, Foster won his 100th game as Quincy's head coach with a victory over Fontbonne at Pepsi Arena. The Hawks also snapped a 21-match losing streak to IPFW with a sweep of the Mastodons on Senior Night at Pepsi Arena. QU also had eight players named to the MIVA's Academic All-Conference team to bring their total to 72 in the last six seasons.

Foster led the Hawks to a school-record 22 wins in 2011 as the squad advanced to the MIVA Tournament semifinals.

Foster arrived in Quincy in the summer of 2005 after serving as the women’s head coach at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Tarleton State, an NCAA Division II school, compiled a 41-63 record under Foster and advanced to the Lone Star Conference Tournament in his first season there.

Prior to that Foster served as the top assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s programs at the University of Findlay (Ohio). In his first season at Findlay, 1999, the Oilers women’s team won 38 matches and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NAIA national tournament. After moving to NCAA Division II, UF qualified for the 2000 regional tournament and advanced to the regional finals in 2001.

Foster’s collegiate coaching experience started with a six-year stint at NCAA Division I Idaho State University. While in Idaho, Foster spent five years as director and head coach of the Gate City Volleyball Club, which played in the Intermountain USA volleyball region. He led the 1999 club to the Region 17 Tournament championship. Foster also coached two seasons at Blackfoot (Idaho) High School.

For the third straight summer in 2014, Foster will be on the coaching staff for the USA Athletes International, leading a group of athletes on a tour that will play several matches at the Scottish Open Tournament in Edinburgh, St. Andrews and Perth. Foster also led teams to Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2012 and 2013.

Foster earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degerees from Idaho State, completing his undergraduate studies in physical education in 1996 before finishing his graduate work in athletic administration in 1998.Â
