Biography

2026 (Junior): Casas served as another key libero for the Hawks during his first season at Quincy, appearing in 17 matches and 52 sets. He totaled 65 digs, averaging 1.25 digs per set, while adding seven assists.

Casas was steady in serve receive, posting a .931 reception percentage on 201 successful receptions in 216 attempts. He made his Quincy debut against Fort Valley State (2/13/26), recording one assist and four digs. Casas finished the season with three matches of double-digit digs, including a season-high 13 against Barry (2/27/26).

2025 (Sophomore at Emmanuel): Casas appeared in 12 matches and 31 sets during his lone season with the Lions. He recorded 39 assists, one service ace, and 10 digs while averaging 1.26 assists per set. Casas made his Emmanuel debut against UC Santa Barbara (1/17/25), finishing with a season-high 17 assists and four digs.

2024 (Freshman at Aquinas): Casas appeared in 17 matches and 49 sets during his freshman season at Aquinas. He totaled 87 assists, 70 digs, eight service aces, one kill, one block, and 9.5 points while averaging 1.78 assists and 1.43 digs per set.

Casas made his collegiate debut in a three-set win over Calvin (1/26/24), recording 14 assists and two digs. He later handed out a season-high 28 assists against Judson (2/2/24) and recorded a season-high 10 digs against Calvin (2/6/24).

Personal: Ariq Casas is from Laredo, Texas, and attended United South High School, where he played for the Panthers. He is the son of Erik and Rosemary Casas and has a sister, Jazmine. Casas excelled academically, earning 12 consecutive A Honor Roll awards, five PBIS Awards, and graduating in the top 10 percent of his class of 798 with a 3.9 GPA while serving as a student committee officer. He also completed over 300 community service hours during his high school career.

On the court, Casas earned AVCA Watchlist recognition in 2023 and participated in both NTDP Beach and Indoor programs. He was named Libero of the Year and Best Defender for San Antonio Tribe in 2021 and was also selected to the 2023 Boys High School All-America Watch List while earning a Top 50 SportsEngine AES Power Ranking. Collegiately, Casas spent the 2024 season at Aquinas before competing at Emmanuel University (Ga.) during the 2025 season, where he earned Dean’s List honors four times and was coached by USAV Hall of Famers LaToya Terry and Antonio Gaetan.

Outside of volleyball, Casas follows the Texas Longhorns women's volleyball and LOVB Austin. His favorite athletes include Micah Ma?a, Madisen Skinner, and Manami Kojima.
