Personal: Andrew Lichtenberger comes from Rochester, Illinois, and is a proud graduate of Rochester High School, home of the Rockets. He is the son of Erich Lichtenberger and Andrea Buch and has a twin brother, Ian, and an older brother, Drake.

Andrew is a determined student-athlete who made the most of opportunities, even though men's volleyball was not officially offered at his high school. He practiced with, managed, and assisted in coaching the girls’ varsity volleyball team. His dedication extended off-campus, where he played club volleyball for Blue Steel Volleyball Club in O’Fallon, Illinois—traveling two hours each way for practices.

In addition to his athletic pursuits, Andrew played football his freshman year and earned a student-athlete academic award. He consistently maintained academic excellence, earning high honor roll and a 4.227 GPA, and was recognized with a nomination for the Congress of Future Medical Leaders Award of Excellence. He was also a member of the Spanish National Honor Society.

He was a part of multiple Central State 8 (CS8) conference and regional championships, and Andrew’s efforts to advocate for men’s volleyball were highlighted in a feature by the State Journal-Register.

His favorite athletes include Erik Shoji, Annie Drews, Hannah Werth, and T.J. DeFalco, and he supports both the USA Men’s and Women’s National Volleyball Teams. Andrew’s drive, advocacy, and excellence on and off the court make him a standout both as a student and an athlete.

Why QU?
I chose QU due to the amazing coaching staff and all of the great things they have to offer for this program. Also, I chose QU because of its great academics, especially in medicine and nursing. It is also close to home and I know a lot of great people that are coming to QU.
