Biography
2025 (Sophomore): Sosa had a breakout season as a sophomore for the Hawks. In 26 matches and 99 total sets, Aleksander led the team in kills (369), kills per set (3.73), service aces (38), points (451), and points per set (4.56). He also had 100 digs and was second on the team with 72 total blocks. Sosa ranked fifth in the MIVA in kills per set and fourth in points per set. He had double-digit kills in 18 matches, including 15 straight to end the season. He had a season-high 29 kills in a five set match against Lewis (2/21/25).

2024 (Freshman): Sosa played in 32 sets across 15 different games, where he had 52 kills, nine service aces, seven digs, and ten blocks for a total of 68 points. He made his collegiate debut against Dominican (1/12/24), which is also where he recorded his first kill. His season high in kills came against Queens (2/2/24) when he had 16 on 32 attempts.
Personal: Sosa comes to Quincy from Zrenjanin, Serbia, where he attended ETGS Nikola Tesla Zrenjanin. Aleksandar is the son of Olivera and Borislav Sosa. Volleyball runs in the family, as his uncle, Vladimir Vanja Grbic, was a part of the Yugoslavian National Team and won a gold medal in the 2000 Olympics.
