Quincy University Hawks

Career (2023-26): Leal started all 53 games she appeared in during her four-year career with the Hawks, finishing as one of the most complete players in program history. As of the 2026 season, she ranked fifth in program history in goals (85), goals per game (1.60), points (114), points per game (2.15), shots (183), shots on goal (139), free-position goals (16), and ground balls (76).

Leal also ranked tied for third in program history with 29 assists and third in assists per game at 0.55. She added four game-winning goals, which ranked fourth in program history, along with nine woman-up goals and one woman-down goal. Defensively and in the draw circle, Leal finished third in program history with 69 caused turnovers, second in caused turnovers per game at 1.30, fourth with 179 draw controls, and second in draw controls per game at 3.38.

Leal recorded 22 multi-goal games throughout her career while finishing with a .464 shooting percentage and a .760 shots-on-goal percentage.

2026 (Senior): Leal started all 17 games during her senior season with the Hawks, continuing to be one of Quincy’s most complete players. She totaled 41 points on 25 goals and 16 assists while adding two game-winning goals, two woman-up goals, one woman-down goal, and five free-position goals.

Leal also made a major impact defensively and in the draw circle, ranking second on the team with 32 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers while adding 47 draw controls. Her 1.82 caused turnovers per game ranked second in the GLVC. She recorded seven multi-goal games and nine games with multiple caused turnovers, highlighted by a season-high five caused turnovers against Dominican University of California (3/27/26). Leal also pulled in a season-high nine draw controls against Saint Anselm (3/16/26) and scored the game-winning goals against Concordia-St. Paul (2/27/26) and Findlay (3/6/26).

2025 (Junior): Leal put together a record-setting junior season for the Hawks, appearing in 14 games and totaling 34 points on 27 goals and seven assists. She also added 17 ground balls and led the team with 22 caused turnovers.

Leal broke multiple Quincy single-season records, including draw controls with 78, caused turnovers per game at 1.57, and draw controls per game at 5.57. She recorded seven multi-goal games, highlighted by a five-goal performance in an overtime victory over Concordia-St. Paul (3/16/25). Leal also had a season-high 12 draw controls in a win over Northern Michigan (3/5/25), the same game she caused a season-high four turnovers.

2024 (Sophomore): Leal started all 19 games during her sophomore season with the Hawks, becoming one of Quincy’s top offensive contributors. She ranked third on the team with 28 goals and added six assists for 34 total points.

Leal also contributed across the field with 21 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers, and 43 draw controls, which ranked third on the team. She recorded seven multi-goal games, including three performances with at least four goals. Leal also had three games with five or more draw controls, highlighted by a season-high seven against Notre Dame College (3/4/24).

2023 (Freshman): Leal started all three games she appeared in during her freshman season with the Hawks, totaling five points on five goals. She also added six ground balls, three caused turnovers, and 11 draw controls. Leal made her collegiate debut against Davenport (2/10/23), scoring the first goal of her career while adding two ground balls and one draw control. She recorded the first multi-goal game of her career against Concordia-St. Paul (2/12/23), finishing with three goals.

Personal: Emily is the daughter of Fred and Veronica Leal, hailing from Rockwall High School in Rockwall, Texas. With the Yellowjackets, Leal was a Division 2 Texas State Runner-up and received all-state honors twice. She was a Spanish Club History, a part of the National Honor Society, and was an AP Scholar with Honors. The accounting/finance major enjoys playing video games, crocheting, and watching hockey in her free time. Her favorite athletes are Izzy Scane and Charlotte North, and she loves cheering for the Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys.
