Personal: Ellis travels north from Troy, Illinois, to join the Hawks soccer program. During his time at Triad High School, Jake was impactful on and off the soccer field. As a freshman with the Knights of Triad High School, Ellis won the Rookie of the Year Award. In his second season at Troy, he was named to the Chicagoland all-state watch list.  As a junior, Ellis helped the Knights go on a state title run, finishing 3rd in 2A state. He was named the overall MVP of his team and made first-team all-conference. During his senior season, Jake helped lead Triad to a second-place finish in 2A, along with being named Triad Male Athlete of the Year, first-team all-conference, Unite Soccer Coaches All-Midwest, and Chicagoland all-state team.

In the classroom, Ellis had a 3.99 GPA throughout high school, which earned him an IHSA all-state academic and all-conference academic selection during his senior year. Jake was also a member of the National Honors Society, a four-year student council representative, and was the sports announcer for girl's varsity soccer on NFHS.

Outside of soccer, Ellis enjoys fishing, camping, and cooking. He is also a big fan of the three major sports teams in St. Louis, the Cardinals, Blues, and STL City. Jake is the son of Amy and Tony Ellis and the brother of his only sibling, Jody.

Why QU?
I chose QU because I really liked the campus and soccer program. Quincy was a place where I could see myself enjoying four or more years of academics and soccer.
