Tom Owens is in his second season (2016) as the assistant men's soccer coach at Quincy University.
Prior to joining the Hawks, Owens spent 2014 at his alma mater, Notre Dame (Ohio) College, as an assistant coach for a Falcons team that went 10-6-2 with an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Tournament.Â
He has also played for Michigan Bucks from 2014-16, captaining the club to United Soccer League (USL) Premier Development League (PDL) National Championships in 2014 and 2016. Owens scored the lone goal in the 2014 championship game.
Owens also played for Forest City London (FC London) from 2011-13 in the USL PDL and captained that club to a championship in 2012.
Owens played midfield for the Falcons in his four year career at Notre Dame. Â Owens led the Falcons to a 72-11 record in four years with a runner-up in the 2010 NAIA National Championship and a 2011 ECAC Championship as the college transitioned to NCAA Division II. Â Owens scored 12 goals and notched 10 assists in his junior season earning Daktronics and NSCAA All-America Second Team honors.
Owens, a native of Liverpool, England, graduated from Halewood Comprehensive in 2010. He played for Preston North End F.C. from 2003-2010. Owens is a Level 2-qualified coach in England.
