Personal: Alvarez attended Cardinal Stritch University and was on the tennis team for two years before coming to Quincy. She is originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador, where she attended Liceo Los Andes. She is the daughter of Tomas Alvarez and Veronica Medina. She also has two siblings, Tomas and Valentina.
